Barehand Work started with one simple truth: Most gear on the market isn’t built for the way linemen actually work. Cheap material, weak stitching, pockets that don’t fit real tools, and bags that fall apart halfway through a season, none of it held up.

After 15 years as a lineman, climbing poles, running bucket trucks, and working storms, I had tried just about every “lineman-approved” bag out there. Most of them failed. Some faster than others. Eventually, I got tired of spending money on gear that couldn’t keep up, so I decided to make something better.

Barehand Work didn’t begin as a business, it began as a solution. I started building my own bags using stronger materials and layouts that actually make sense in the field. My coworkers noticed the gear I was using and started asking for their own, and that’s how things grew into what we are today.

We’re a family-operated setup selling gear built the way it should be.

Small Team. Strong Values. Real Quality.

Barehand Work is, at its core, a family operation. We don’t have a corporate team or a warehouse full of machines. Everything we make passes through the hands of people who care about the work and the outcome.

My mom handles the sewing and construction, putting in the kind of detail and precision that only comes from experience and pride in the craft. The rest of the family helps with assembly, finishing, customization, and shipping. It’s not a big crew, but it’s one that puts thought and intention into every step.

Keeping things family-operated means we see every bag from start to finish. We know who touched it, who stitched it, who checked it, and who packed it. That’s how we stay consistent, and that’s how we make sure quality stays where it needs to be.

As the brand grows, we plan to expand the family involvement or work with a U.S. manufacturing partner who aligns with our standards. But no matter what, the heart of the company stays the same: real people making real gear for real work.
